Smart Spectrometer Electronics for Advanced Sensor Operations.
Designed to meet the specific requirements of diode array spectrometer manufacturers, the Smart Spectrometer Electronics family offers outstanding analogue and digital signal processing functions.
With its large selection of functionalities, a variety of spectrometer concepts can efficiently be achieved by simple parameterization and without additional development efforts, offering many possibilities to highlight individual features and functions. Concepts for intelligent sensors, i.e. fully autonomous systems with fully integrated data analysis, are also easy to realize.
Short Time-to-Market
The comprehensive options for customization through mere parameterization allow a quick market launch, even for very application-specific implementations at system level.
Modular Concept
The modular concept with its mutually compatible assemblies allows for a functional and cost-optimized combination of the respective components required.
The communication between the components and their peripherals is managed via an existing internal bus system. Sequence controls can therefore be addressed from a single interface on the mainboard.
Available Boards
Main Board (MB)
The main board acts as the key control unit for all other modules and enables comprehensive data pre-processing and analysis. The connection to a machine controller or a PC can be made either at protocol level, via SDKs or the Modbus interface. For multi-channel systems, parallel real-time operation of up to four sensor boards with one main board is possible.
Sensor Board (SB)
A variety of dedicated sensor boards are available for all common detectors. The A/D converter is located close to the detector to increase EMC safety and allows a conversion depth of up to 24 bits.
Temperature Control Board (TCB)
The Temperature Control Board is optionally provided for the operation of thermoelectrically stabilized detectors.
Light Control Board (LCB)
The optional Light Control Board permits active control of tungsten halogen, deuterium, Xe-flash or laser light sources as well as further peripherals.
Power Supply Board (PSB)
Power supply boards for both 10-30 VDC and 110-240 VAC ensure a stabilized and filtered power supply for the system regardless of the quality of the input voltage.
Highlights
Smart Functions
Electronics are ready for predictive maintenance routines and self-diagnosis, a basic requirement for fully autonomous smart sensors. For this purpose, the main board offers the option of capturing and evaluating system information data, conveniently accessible via the interface.
Connecting options are provided for external sensors to record data like pressure or temperature at the measuring point. Beyond the actual spectral data, this sample-related information can be used for extended data evaluation. Moreover, those sensors also can be used for internal device status monitoring.
The Linux-operated microprocessor (SoC) offers the user options for on-board data analysis. In addition to commercially available prediction engines, scripts (Python, R, etc.) for multivariate data analysis or for neural networks can also be run.
Data Acquisition and -Processing
The variable conversion depth of 16 to 24 bits, allows to optimize the system with regards to either speed or signal resolution as required.
With respect to characteristics such as dynamics, S/N ratio and stability, the performance is only constrained by the detector limits.
